(Summary description)A force transducer is actually a device that converts a mass signal into a measurable electrical output. When using a transducer, we must first consider the actual operating environment in which the transducer is located. This is very important for the correct choice of load cell. It relates to the proper operation of the load cell, its safety and service life, and even the reliability and safety of the entire weighing apparatus.

Force transducers are used extensively in our industry and it is therefore important that we have a good understanding of the use of force transducers so that we can quickly solve the problems we encounter in our work and improve our efficiency. In the following section you will find the causes and solutions for errors caused by force sensors on the object being measured.
After the force transducer has been subjected to an external force, the strain gauge mounted on the elastomer deforms and causes a change in resistance. The change in resistance causes the Wheatstone bridge to go out of balance and output an electrical signal that is linearly proportional to the external force. It is relatively simple to say, but it is a very complex process to work with. Especially when faced with an error in the object to be measured, the load cell tries its best to find a solution. .
The frequency response characteristics of the force transducer determine the frequency range to be measured and the measurement conditions must remain within the permissible frequency range. In practice, the response of the load cell always has a fixed delay and it is desirable that the delay time is as short as possible. A high frequency response of the sensor allows a wide range of measurable signal frequencies and a high inertia of the mechanical system due to the structural characteristics, while the measurable signal frequencies are due to the low frequency sensor. In dynamic measurements, the response characteristics should be based on the characteristics of the signal (steady state, transient, random, etc.) to avoid over-fire errors.
The linear range of a force measuring sensor is the range in which the output is proportional to the input and in theory the sensitivity remains constant over this range. The wider the linear range of the sensor, the greater the measurement range and the greater the assurance of a certain measurement accuracy. When selecting a sensor, after determining the type of sensor, you first need to check whether its range meets the requirements. In practice, however, no sensor can be guaranteed to be absolutely linear and its linearity is relative. When the required measurement accuracy is low in a certain range, a sensor with a small non-linear error can be considered linear, which will give great convenience in measurement.
