(Summary description)A pressure sensor is a device that senses a pressure signal according to specific rules and converts the pressure signal into a usable electrical output signal. Pressure sensors usually consist of a pressure sensitive element and a signal processing unit. Depending on the type of test pressure, pressure sensors can be classified as gauge pressure sensors, differential pressure sensors.

The piezoelectric effect is the main operating principle of piezoelectric sensors. Piezoelectric sensors cannot be used for static measurements because the charge after an external force can only be preserved if the circuit has an infinite input impedance. This is not the case in practice and therefore this dictates that piezoelectric sensors can only measure dynamic stresses.
Pressure sensors are mainly used to measure acceleration, pressure and force. Piezoelectric accelerometers are commonly used as accelerometers. They have the advantages of simple construction, small size, light weight and long service life. Piezoelectric accelerometers have been widely used for vibration and shock measurements in aircraft, automobiles, ships, bridges and buildings, especially in the aviation and aerospace sectors. Pressure sensors are also used to measure internal combustion pressure and vacuum in engines, and it can also be used in the military industry. For example, it can be used to measure changes in bore pressure when firing objects in the chamber and shock wave pressure at the muzzle of a gun. It can be used to measure both large and small pressures.
Pressure sensors are also widely used for biomedical measurements, for example, ventricular catheter microphones made from piezoelectric sensors. Piezoelectric sensors are widely used because the measurement of dynamic pressure is so common.
Pressure transducers are commonly used in industrial practice and are used in a wide variety of industrial automation environments in water and electricity, railway transport, intelligent construction, production automation, aerospace, petrochemical, oil well, power, marine, machine tools, pipelines and many other industries.
