As an important part of the space environment simulator, the vacuum system is generally divided into two parts: rough pumping and high vacuum, which plays a key role in simulating the space vacuum background during the spacecraft thermal test. Once the vacuum level is abnormal during the thermal test, not only the test cannot be carried out, but may even cause harm to the spacecraft, hence the high temperature sensor.
In order to verify the correctness of the thermal design of the spacecraft and the ability of the thermal control system to adapt to various thermal environments during all phases of flight and to determine the optimum thermal control parameters for the thermal control system, and to assess and verify the working capability of the spacecraft, adequate ground tests must be carried out during the development of the spacecraft, and the spacecraft vacuum thermal environment tests are realised in the space environment simulator, where vacuum is an indispensable environmental condition.
Once the vacuum environment of the space environment simulator is abnormal in the establishment or maintenance process, the effect of the ground simulation test of the spacecraft product will be difficult to guarantee and may even cause harm to the spacecraft product itself.
For example, if the vacuum level is abnormal during the rough extraction phase, all the tests carried out during the launch phase of the spacecraft will not be completed. It is therefore necessary to develop diagnostic techniques for abnormal vacuum levels in thermal tests, to diagnose abnormal vacuum levels in space environment simulators, to analyse the causes and to prompt testers to deal with them in time to ensure that thermal tests are carried out smoothly.
It is quite difficult to achieve an ultra-high vacuum environment simulation in cosmic space within a large space environment simulator, and there is no need to do so. In terms of thermal equilibrium tests, the test requirements can be met by overcoming the effects of convection and thermal conductivity of the air within the space environment simulator.
